Jon Stewart has weighed in on Newsweek's controversial Michele Bachmann cover, defending the Republican candidate for president.
"But. Be honest Newsweek. You used that photo in a petty attempt to make Michele Bachman look crazy. And that's what her words are for. ...You want a photo that makes her seem a little off? Make it out of her words."
He added: "Shame on you, Newsweek. And your editor, Tina Brown."
Brown defended the cover on MSNBC's Morning Joe show yesterday, saying, "Some people look this picture and think Michele Bachmann looks crazy. Some people look at it and think it's the next president of the United States. The fact that these two things are no longer mutually exclusive is what, I think, makes it pretty compelling."
